Spotify is an industry leading music streaming service which allows users to listen for free or via an ad-free subscription. Subscription prices vary based on which plan is chosen. Spotify works with independent artists and record labels via digital distributors, and artists are paid relative to how many times their songs are streamed.

Pandora is an internet music discovery service that helps you enjoy music you already know and discover new music. Using your selected artist and genre preferences, the service automatically creates radio stations. These stations can help you discover lesser know songs from artists you already know, or introduce you to completely new artists that are similar to the ones you like. 

Napster

Napster is an online streaming and radio service. Through a monthly subscription fee, users get access to personalized radio stations and unlimited streaming (varies based on which subscription tier is chosen). Napster can be used through an internet browser or on mobile devices.

Jango

Jango is a free social music service that lets users create their own custom radio stations and share them with friends. If you can get your music into their rotation you can find new fans. It works when users type in an artist they like and get similar sounding artists on their custom radio station, similar to the Pandora concept. You can get your music on Jango through Radio Airplay, a monthly subscription service which allows you to get your music onto Jango stations with well known artists of the same genre.

Last.fm is an online music service that learns the music you love by tracking what you play to create a profile of the music you like. It can connect you to other people who like what you like and recommends songs from their music collection and yours too. As an artist, you can submit music and get listed for free, which can help you expand your fanbase. 

SomaFM

SomaFM is a leading Internet Radio Station that has over 30 different commercial free internet stations steaming music to listeners. They do not focus on commercialized music but music and formats that aren't available on commercial radio, or formats that are not being done right. They support unsigned and indie artists and they will consider adding your music to their station if you submit it to them digitally.
